Experience classic rock in Vancouver!

Vancouver has a deep love for vintage experience. Pop into one of our many vintage stores – including Main Street’s own Front & Company, and you’ll see dozens of Vancouverites picking through the best of the past to reclaim it for NOW. That spirit of recognizing the best the past has to offer is reflected in these upcoming shows!

Vancouver’s Arts Club is a fantastic theatre that brings you hit musicals on Vancouver’s Granville Island. From now until August 12, you can see their production of Mamma Mia!, the feel-good musical about a daughter, a mother, the men who loved her, and Abba’s greatest hits! Features such as like "Dancing Queen," "The Winner Takes It All," and "S.O.S.” – this show will have you dancing and singing along!

On August 20th, classic shock-rocker Alice Cooper will perform at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. The writer of such classics as “School’s Out,” “Feed My Frankenstein” and “Poison,” Alice Cooper was one of the forefathers of heavy metal, combing shocking stage antics with revved-up rock anthems. He’s older now – wiser – but no less of a rock GOD.

When grunge hit it big, alternative rockers Alice In Chains was one of the hottest bands around. Writing dark and soulful songs that spoke to a generation. Many thought the band was sunk when lead singer Layne Stanley passed in 2002, but Stanley was not the only secret to their success – they reformed with new singer Jerry Cantrell and have been releasing critically-acclaimed, chart-topping hits ever since. See them play all their hits on August 22 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

If you want the real Vancouver experience, book accommodations at the Best Western Plus Uptown Hotel. Located in the heart of Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant, we offer an alternative view of the city that more closely reflects the rebel spirit that’s always lived here. Book your stay today and discover the REAL Vancouver.
